ALS Caregiving 101

Caregiver 101: A virtual forum of caregivers, led by medical experts, where participants learn the basics, connect with peers to share their experiences, and ask questions directly to ALS providers!

Saturday November 8 and Sunday November 9, 2025

This is a virtual event that will take place on Saturday, November 8 between 9 am – 1 pm and Sunday November 9 between 1 – 5 pm. In response to feedback we received, we are trying a new format, splitting the event over two short days. Both days will be divided into hour-long topic sessions, with breaks between. The daily schedule is provided below, and attendees are welcome to attend any, or all sessions.

Registered participants will receive an email prior to the event with resources, handouts and video links relevant to the topic sessions.  We encourage you to take the week to review the resources and, in combination with your lived experience, come to sessions prepared with questions for the health care professionals. Each session is variable.

• Occupational Therapy: 9 – 10 am
• Respritory/Pulmonology: 10:15 – 11:15
• Diet/Nutrition: 11:30 am – 12:15 pm
• Caregiver Support/Palliative : 12:15 – 1 pm

Sunday 11/9

• Nursing/ Provider: 1 – 2 pm
• Physical Therapy: 2:15 – 3:15 pm
• Speech Communication: 3:30 – 4:30 pm
• Caregiver support/Coping : 4:30 – 5 pm
