“God has blessed me with a platform through football and it’s my responsibility to use it for something greater than myself,” expressed Bo Nix. “ALS is a devastating disease that affects far too many lives and it’s cause that I am personally committed to. By dedicating my touchdowns to raising funds and awareness, I hope to make a difference and contribute to ALS Northwest’s vital work. I challenge Ducks fans to match my contributions and be part of the team fighting for a cure.”
ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative terminal disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS Northwest (formerly known as the ALS Association Oregon and SW WA Chapter) is dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by ALS by providing care services, advancing research, and advocating for better treatments and a cure.
Lance Christian, Executive Director of ALS Northwest, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are deeply honored and excited to have Bo Nix join us in our fight against ALS. His dedication and commitment to making a positive impact resonates strongly with our organization’s values. Bo’s initiative will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of those living with ALS, as well as contribute to raising awareness about this challenging disease.”
Nix’s pledge comes at a crucial time when ALS Northwest continues to expand its programs and support services to meet the growing needs of individuals and families affected by ALS. Bo Nix’s dedication and involvement exemplify the power of unity and collaboration in making a tangible difference in the lives of those facing ALS.
As Bo Nix prepares to embark on his final season with the University of Oregon Ducks, his commitment to helping those with ALS underscores the true spirit of teamwork and philanthropy. ALS Northwest looks forward to celebrating each touchdown and the collective impact they will have on the ALS community.
