SMS TEXTING POLICY

The following terms and conditions apply to ALS Northwest’s Text Messaging Program.

SMS Texting:

The purpose of ALS Northwest’s use of SMS texting is to support the work and communication of the organization to conduct normal operations providing supports and resources to people with ALS. Most communications will be direct person to person SMS texts to individuals.

By sharing your contact information, telephone number, or email address, and your consent to receive communication from ALS Northwest, the organization agrees that this information is confidential, and your contact information will not be shared with any 3rd party providers.

Eligibility:

You must be 18 years or older, or at least 13 years old and have the express permission of a parent/guardian, to receive text messages from ALS Northwest. You also must be a U.S. resident.

How to Sign Up:

ALS Northwest may provide you with an opportunity to opt in to receive special offers and other communications via text messages on your mobile phone. You can opt in to receive this messaging by providing ALS Northwest with your mobile phone number on a webform, event registration, verbally or via email.

Your Consent:

When you provide your mobile phone number, and give consent you will receive short message service (SMS) messages from ALS Northwest.

Terms and Conditions:

By opting in, you accept and agree to be bound by ALS Northwest’s Privacy Policy and any other applicable terms, and you consent to the processing of your personal information as set forth in those policies. Charges:

Standard carrier message and data rates may apply. Please check your mobile service carrier's pricing plan to determine the charges associated with sending and receiving text messages. All charges are billed by, and payable to, your mobile service provider

How to Opt Out:

You are able to opt out from future messages at any time by:

Replying STOP to End from your mobile phone. You may also opt out by texting the words END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, HELP or QUIT. You agree that if you request to opt out from future messages, we may send you a one-time opt-out text message to confirm. You may also request to opt out of SMS texting by emailing a request with your contact information to info@alsnorthwest.org. Or by calling ALS Northwest at (503) 238-5559 and verbally requesting to have your contact information removed from SMS texting.

If you would like to join again after opting out, please sign up as you did the first time and we will resume sending SMS messages to you again. ALS Northwest reserves the right to remove any contact from our messaging database at our discretion.
